Privacy Policy (US / Global)

Effective Date: Jan 1, 2025

1. Introduction

Synclip ("we", "our", "us") provides AI video creation services across our websites, web applications, mobile experiences and related APIs/tools and documentation (collectively, the "Services"). We respect your privacy and are committed to processing personal information lawfully, fairly and transparently, in line with applicable laws and industry best practices.

This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, the choices and rights you may have, and how to contact us. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the Services.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to our collection and processing of personal information about users of the Services, including individuals acting on behalf of business customers. Where we process data strictly as a processor on behalf of an enterprise customer pursuant to a customer agreement, that processing is governed by the customer agreement, not this Policy. This Policy also does not apply to third‑party websites, platforms or content accessible via links or shared by others. We encourage you to review third‑party privacy policies before sharing information with them.

3. Information We Collect

We collect personal information from the following sources:

(1) Information you provide: account and contact details (e.g., name, email, phone), credentials, organization and role, mailing address, social handles, payment records (handled and stored by payment processors), text/audio/scripts/images/videos you provide as "Input" and related metadata, user‑generated content (UGC) you share within the Services, and information you provide when communicating with us (e.g., sales contact forms or chatbot interactions).

(2) Information collected automatically: through cookies, pixels, SDKs, logs and similar technologies, including device and browser information, operating system, unique identifiers, IP address and approximate location, timestamps, referrer and exit pages, page views and clickstream, feature usage, crash/performance metrics, and related diagnostic data.

(3) Information from third parties: when you connect Synclip to integration services (e.g., single sign‑on, identity providers, storage, social platforms) or interact with us on social media, we may receive information from integration partners, login/identity integrations, and social platforms as permitted by law.

4. How We Use Your Information (Legal Bases / Purposes)

We process personal information based on contract performance, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and/or your consent. Purposes include: providing and maintaining the Services; identity verification and authentication; personalization and recommendations; customer support and communications; analytics and product improvement; security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and auditing; legal and regulatory compliance; and, where permitted or with consent, marketing communications. Where data may be used to improve or train AI capabilities, we apply appropriate safeguards and provide reasonable opt‑out options.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We disclose information only as described: (a) at your request, direction or with your consent; (b) to contracted vendors/ processors that support the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, content delivery, identity/ authentication, payments, support, logging/monitoring, analytics and anti‑abuse) under appropriate data protection terms; (c) to our affiliates under protections consistent with this Policy; (d) for legal/regulatory, law enforcement or dispute resolution purposes; and (e) in connection with mergers, acquisitions or other corporate transactions, subject to continued protections. We may share aggregated/de‑identified statistics that do not identify you.

6. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of personal information (e.g., access controls, encryption, least privilege, layered permissions, auditing/monitoring, and workforce security training). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please keep your credentials safe and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described, taking into account legal, regulatory, contractual and operational requirements (e.g., account maintenance, preservation of outputs, dispute handling, auditing and statutory retention). When data is no longer needed, we delete or de‑identify it. Data residing in backups is removed according to backup lifecycles.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection (including to model‑improvement uses and marketing), portability, and to withdraw consent without affecting prior processing. We may request information to verify your identity and protect security; you may also authorize an agent to act on your behalf where permitted. If we cannot fully satisfy a request due to legal or legitimate grounds, we will explain why. Contact: privacy@synclip.com.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and authorized third parties use cookies, pixels, SDKs, logs and similar technologies for sign‑in/session continuity, preference storage, performance and security, analytics and product improvement, personalization and (where lawful) marketing. Where required, we will obtain your consent before setting non‑essential cookies. Most browsers let you manage or delete cookies; disabling non‑essential cookies may affect certain features. Our sites generally do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.

10. International Data Transfers

To provide globally available Services, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside your country/region (e.g., where cloud or content delivery infrastructure is hosted). We implement appropriate transfer safeguards consistent with applicable laws (e.g., standard contractual clauses) and require recipients to provide protections consistent with this Policy.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults and individuals with full legal capacity. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, nor do we target individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected a minor’s information without consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time and will indicate the “Effective Date.” For material changes, we will provide additional notice (e.g., in‑product notice or email). Your continued use of the Services after updates take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services and contact us.

13. Contact Us

For questions, requests or complaints regarding privacy or this Policy, please contact us at privacy@synclip.com. Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
